Start with drawings and site information
A useful quotation begins with the project type, Pune location, approximate area, drawings or site photographs, required work, material preferences and expected start period. Existing buildings may also need an inspection because access, demolition and hidden conditions can change the execution scope.
Compare the scope, not only the total
Ask each contractor to price the same written scope. Check whether RCC, masonry, plaster, waterproofing, flooring, electrical, plumbing, painting, site protection, debris handling and supervision are included. A lower total is not directly comparable when important work is excluded.
Separate labour and material responsibilities
For a labour contract, the owner usually manages material purchase and availability while the contractor manages the agreed labour scope. In a labour-and-material contract, specifications, brands or approved equivalents, procurement responsibility and billing milestones should be written clearly.
Record assumptions, exclusions and changes
The quotation should explain measurement methods, taxes where applicable, payment milestones, working-hour assumptions, exclusions and how additional work will be approved. Written variation approval helps both parties track decisions when the site condition or requested scope changes.
Prepare for a useful site visit
Before requesting a detailed quotation, prepare the site location, approximate built-up area, drawings if available, photographs, preferred specifications, budget range and timeline. H&H SPACES can use these details to discuss whether a site visit is the appropriate next step.
